Friendship and Religion
Beyond the religious belief, the set of rules and prophecies, the christian faith is based on love, compassion and friendship. The book of Mark points out that love and friendship among people are far more important than sacrifices for God. This message repeats itself in both the old and new testament, and indeed, there are not any higher moral principles than true friendship, genuine human bonding and caring for others.
“This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends”.
The value of friendship and brotherhood is well reasoned in the book of Ecclesiastes in the old testament. The deep solidarity and warmth gained through hard work in a true friendship, is compared with the cold and loneliness of being alone.
“Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up. If two lie together, then they have heat, but how can one be warm alone?”
The book of Proverbs says that “Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another”. And indeed, having true friends in your life makes you a better, brighter and sharper person. Galilee 33’s unique gift baskets are the perfect way to reflect your gratitude towards your friends. The products each gift basket contains are grown with love and care in christian family farms from the Galilee, on the very land where Jesus lived and taught. Send your friends a basket, let them know you care.
“…There is a friend who sticks closer than a brother”
